PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
A fully enclosed plywood / timber box. A case offers increased damage protection with an added level of security, with no gaps between the timber. Another advantage is added shelter from the elements. Cases can be lined with many products for better waterproof protection, dust and moisture protection, scratch and shock protection, and temperature control. Cases offer a stronger alternative if stacking, and ideal for short or long hauls over road, air or sea.
LJB manufacture for both domestic and international destinations.
TURNAROUND
Cases and crates are a core product of our company, and our production facility is optimized for fast turnaround. Our products are custom made to order and not in stock. To help us achieve your preferred deadline, it is crucial to provide as much lead time as possible. LJB is dedicated to meeting your deadlines and will strive to do so. As work loads change, it is best to contact us and discuss realistic turnaround.
SIZE
At LJB there is no such term as "STANDARD" all our cases and crates are made to whatever size you require.
Files are kept for all orders, so repeat orders are fast and efficient. This also eliminates any guess work, leading to mistake. We can also allocate product codes to easily identify repeat orders.
WHAT ABOUT THE WEIGHT
Cases & crates can be designed to carry almost any weight and there is no standard configuration for this. LJB will assure that the appropriate construction is used based on the consignment weight given.
BRACING
If you are packing your consignment yourself and require bracing, please advise us and we will include the required amount of loose packing pieces.
DIVIDERS
Dividers can be made to better protect multiple items inside our cases and crates.
NEED TO REUSE
LJB can custom make cases and crates with hinges, hasp and staples to make them lockable and easier to open when being reused. Hinged ramps can also be made and built into one of the panels for easy movement of wheeled equipment.
ACCESS
Several options are available to facilitate the loading of your case or crate:
TOP LOOSE - Used when item is to be lowered into the box such as with an over head crane.
SIDE LOOSE - Used when the item is being lifted in from the side (Front) perfect for tall case's / crate's as avoids nailing lid at height
TOP & SIDE LOOSE - The most common variation as it allows ease of loading from the top or the side with very little restriction.
TOP & END LOOSE - A variation used when long items are loaded into the end of the case / crate, also container loading.
LIFT OVER - All four walls and lid nailed.
FLAT PACK - Is the ideal solution for large machinery or any awkward product. Components are manufactured but not assembled. Simply place your item on the base unit, then assemble the four sides and top by nailing the panels and lid together.
STENCILING
As part of our product protection procedure, LJB can stencil your case or crate with standard signage such as: Fragile, Handle With Care, This Side Up and Keep Dry. We also have the ability to create custom stencils in house. For regular customers, we are happy to stencil your company logo or identity.
LINING FOR FURTHER PROTECTION
LJB offers the following:

Plastic lining - Basic protection against dust and moisture.

Bubble wrap lining - Protects fragile products against scratches and moderate shock.

Sisalkraft - Excellent barrier against moisture ingress, absorbs moisture preventing the build up of condensation, has excellent strength properties.

Foam lining – Many types & thicknesses available, for protection against shock.

Polystyrene lining - Extra protection and temperature control.
SHRINK - WRAP / STRETCH WRAP
Shrink wrap becomes smaller to fit the form and shape of the object it is protecting. Plastic is placed around the object, heat is applied, and the plastic conforms to the shape of the object.
Benefits include creating a waterproof barrier around the object, holding together items that are loose, and protecting the object from the elements.
Stretch wrap does not adjust to fit the size and shape of the object. It is wrapped tightly around the object to hold together any loose items. Stretch wrap will stretch when it is pulled, it does not create an airtight barrier around the object, and will not completely protect the object from moisture, dirt, or dust. Stretch wrap does pull and hold objects together very well.
Both have their own benefits, before you package your item for shipping, discuss with us if shrink wrap or stretch wrap is right for your situation.
